Nestora Home Care Christmas Party & Carer Awards 2025: A Heartwarming Celebration of Community, Care and Christmas Cheer
On Saturday 6th December, the Nestora Home Care family gathered at Bradley Park Community Centre for an afternoon filled with warmth, laughter, and festive celebration. Our annual Christmas Party is always a cherished moment in our calendar, but this year’s event felt especially meaningful as we launched our first-ever Carer Awards Ceremony.
It was a wonderful opportunity to bring together our clients, their families, our dedicated care professionals, and valued stakeholders to honour the true spirit of community that defines Nestora Home Care.
A Warm and Heartfelt Welcome
The celebration began with a welcoming speech from our Business Owner and Director, Anjam Razaq, joined by our Manager, Gareth Downes. Their words reflected on the year passed-one filled with meaningful moments, new achievements, and the ongoing dedication of our team. They expressed heartfelt gratitude to our clients for their trust, to families for their partnership, and to our care professionals for the compassion and professionalism they show every day.
Their message set the tone for the afternoon: this was not just a party, but a chance to pause, come together, and truly appreciate the people who make our community so strong. As guests arrived, the room quickly filled with festive decorations, warm conversations, and the unmistakable joy of being surrounded by familiar, friendly faces. Clients chatted with carers, families reconnected with team members, and everyone quickly settled into the warm, welcoming atmosphere.
Introducing Our First-Ever Nestora Carer Awards Ceremony
This year marked a special milestone for Nestora Home Care as we proudly introduced our Carer Awards Ceremony for the very first time. These awards were created to recognise the remarkable contribution our carers make every day-often quietly, humbly, and behind the scenes, but always with unwavering commitment.
Launching the awards felt particularly meaningful, as it gave us the chance to celebrate the heart of our organisation: the people who go above and beyond to support our clients with dignity, compassion, and professionalism.
Our Carer Award Winners
Social Media Award – Lesley
This award went to someone who truly lives and breathes Nestora Home Care. Lesley likes and shares nearly every social media post, gets involved in all charity and social events, and even raised over £100 for the Big Bikeathon Big Build Appeal for Overgate Hospice.
Over the past couple of years, she has shown remarkable personal strength, staying committed to her work and our team even while facing her own challenges. She consistently learns, grows, and strives to improve, making her a brilliant ambassador for our organisation.
Perfect Professional Award – Rezzane
This was awarded to the team member who received the highest number of nominations across all categories- Rezzane. She truly sets the standard for professional care.
Her attention to detail, adherence to procedures, and dedication to the values of Nestora Home Care are outstanding. With a wonderful personality that brightens the day of everyone around her, she leads by example and is admired by both clients and colleagues alike.
Sunshine Award – Bithy
This award celebrated someone who lifts spirits wherever they go. Bithy brings joy to clients and builds strong, positive relationships every day.
Described as bubbly, friendly, and full of warmth, her presence alone creates a positive mood and brightens any room she enters. Her energy and positivity make her a source of happiness for clients and colleagues alike.
Above and Beyond Award – Paula
Paula is recognised for consistently going further than expected. She receives glowing feedback from clients and completes every task to a very high standard, with exceptional attention to detail. What stood out most was her dedication during last year’s harsh winter: she helped dig cars out of the snow and even drove in dangerous conditions on her day off to ensure clients’ calls were covered. Paula’s commitment, courage, and readiness to go above and beyond every day make her a truly outstanding member of the Nestora team.
Carer of the Year Award – Bukola
Our final award recognised someone who sets the standard for excellence in care. Bukola goes the extra mile for her clients, consistently bringing joy and laughter to both clients and the team.
Professional, compassionate, and deeply valued by everyone she supports, she lifts the mood of those around her and is always reliable, dedicated, and willing to help. Clients have nothing but positive words to say about the care she provides, making her a truly deserving Carer of the Year.
Each award announcement was met with applause, smiles, and even a few emotional moments, as the room celebrated these incredible individuals and all they bring to Nestora Home Care.
Live Music, Dancing & Unforgettable Moments
Adding even more magic to the afternoon, guests enjoyed a beautiful live performance from Emma Haley from Music Moments, whose renditions of Christmas classics helped create a warm and festive atmosphere. Her music brought the room together, with many guests joining in to sing along.
It didn’t take long for the dance floor to fill with clients, carers, and families enjoying the moment together-laughing, dancing, and soaking up the festive cheer. The energy in the room was infectious, and seeing everyone join in, regardless of age or ability, was a true highlight.
One especially memorable moment came when one of our clients stepped forward to perform a karaoke song. His confidence and enthusiasm captured everyone’s hearts, and the applause he received was a beautiful reminder of how events like these empower individuals to shine.
Good Food, Great Company & A Stronger Community
After the entertainment, guests gathered to enjoy a delicious meal. Conversations filled the tables-stories were shared, new friendships were formed, and familiar bonds were strengthened. It was a lovely moment to slow down and spend quality time together away from the busyness of everyday life.
This shared meal highlighted something central to our work at Nestora Home Care: the power of connection. Whether between a client and their carer, a director and a family member, or two people meeting for the first time, these connections remind us that care goes far beyond tasks. It is rooted in relationships, trust, and kindness.

As the afternoon drew to a close, it was clear that the event had been a wonderful success. The laughter, the moments of recognition, and the atmosphere of warmth and joy all reflected the values we hold dear at Nestora Home Care.
